Internationals

You shall also love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”  – Deuteronomy 10:19

Pittsburgh welcomes internationals from many countries each year. Church of the Ascension welcomes YOU if you are one of them! If you are here for education or for work, if you need help or prayer, or if you are new to the United States because of problems in your home country, we welcome you! We hope you feel at home with us.

Our International Ministry began in the fall of 2016. Since then there has been a weekly average of 35-55 internationals who have:

  • attended English classes in the mornings or evenings
  • eaten dinner with families
  • spent a holiday with a family
  • joined in field trips
  • met for conversation with a church member

In fact, over 179 different students have come to Ascension’s ESL classes at some point since we began this ministry in September 2016

If you are an international and want to PARTICIPATE!

Church of the Ascension offers EFL (English as a Foreign Language) conversation classes.
